Group Therapy presents the opportunity to reshape our lives with insights into the lives of others. Each new group is a fresh start and a chance to learn so much about ourselves. Groups can strongly influence our behavior and help us make changes in the direction we want. You can share and work through personal problems in a group where you can trust the others and they can trust you. Although the experience of first joining a group can be daunting, the experience of making profound changes in the interest of your own health and happiness is exhilarating and life affirming.

A good deal of what is usually called external in our lives is at the same time deeply internal and greatly influences us as we develop. Groups allow us to explore relationships with others and at the same time probe deeper into ourselves.

Research has shown that groups are particularly valuable for people who are depressed.

Having been mentored by some of the creators and founders of group therapy, I can impart to you some of the wisdom I have gained across more than 40 years of practicing the art. My groups are built around carefully selected individual members whose identification with each other increases self –esteem and confidence for all.

Encouragement from peers plays a large role in the improvement of group members over time . Our mature leadership as marriage and family counselors will allow you to develop meaningful relationships with your fellow group members.

Anxiety, depression, and obsessive thinking cause undue suffering for many individuals. Becoming a member of one of our therapy groups may prove to be a turning point in your life.

In addition to leading groups, Bill Roller offers the following professional services:

Relationships provide the core of happiness for most people. They can also produce excruciating sadness when they suffer conflict and neglect. I can help couples repair their relationships and restore their bonds of intimacy. After working with more than a thousand couples as a licensed counselor, I have developed an open ended program that recognizes the uniqueness of each partner in a couple and respects and builds on the inherent strength that brought them together. Couple therapy allows partners a space to confront their conflicts and emptiness openly and enhance their capacity for closeness. Call for an initial interview and we will explore together how best to bring new joy to your lives.

Families are not all the same---but families that suffer from multiple losses, intractable conflict, and deep failures to communicate experience a level of pain that can seem intolerable. In my work with families, I use my empathy, knowledge, and intuition to help families communicate with each other in ways that advance their capacity for closeness and at the same time support the growth and autonomy of each person in the family.

Each family is unique and I will help you move toward specific goals that you will choose for yourselves. I encourage healthy family dynamics when possible and confront family dysfunction when necessary. I have learned my skill from my years of apprenticeship with pioneer family therapists and also from many years of work dedicated to the growth and liberation of families locked in painful impasses.

Come learn how to communicate better ---using methods I've developed as a long time licensed counselor.

I shall lead an on-going therapy group for therapists, exploring who we are now and how we desire to be in the world. This group is for people who are dedicated to personal growth, developing meaningful relationships, and living creatively. Together we shall use the power of group to activate our imagination, drawing on the techniques of group analysis, transactional analysis, gestalt, psychodrama, and redecision therapy, and opening the possibility for change to occur in our lives.

I had the good fortune to be mentored by some of the founders and innovators of group therapy and my intent is to impart some of the wisdom I have gained accross 40 years of practicing the art. Please call me to ask questions and arrange a pre-group interview to discuss your goals.
